Nancy Terrell

Nancy's Response to Homebrew Letter:

Hi Liza,I am Nancy Terrell, sister in law of Paul Terrell. My husband, Bob Terrell and I opened a Byte Shop computer store in 1976 in Greensboro NC. Bob needed a store manager and I volunteered. We sold kits to make your own computer.
One day, a man poked his head in the door and said "Who are you and how long are you going to be here?" A few months later,a salesman dropped off an Apple computer. He said."Take it home and play with it"
After we added monitors and started selling Apple computers, we became one of the largest Apple Education dealers in the state. I am an elementary teacher,so I stalled them myself. When a media specialist saw me arrive with my phillips head screw driver, she said, "eekgad it's a woman"!
I added a training center in the store! I taught lots of tired teachers after school. Some even stuck floppy disks in the drive and I had to get pliers to pull them out ! I created camps for kids in summers.. When we added desktop publishing we taught classes or our customers, And, added more courses as the need arose.
The local computer club met in our store!
I now sell real estate for Century 21 in N Myrtle Beach SC and create beautiful brochures for some of my listings!
